Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has traditionally been a high priority for us. Therefore, the b&m Group has had its sustainability management certified by EcoVadis on a voluntary basis – and was awarded a “silver medal” right away as recognition for the performance achieved. EcoVadis is an assessment platform for evaluating sustainability along the entire supply chain.

Its evidence-based ratings target the areas of environment, sustainable procurement, ethics, and labor and human rights. EcoVadis’ methodology is based on international standards for sustainability, including Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000. Steffen Redlingshöfer, Head of Quality and responsible for CSR at b&m, says about the result of the rating: “In the area of environment, we already occupy a pole position regarding the assessed companies in our industry. And in the overall assessment, we rank among the top 10 percent industry-wide.” Redlingshöfer sees the current status as a prelude. “It is now important to work on consistently improving our scoring with extensive measures at all of the b&m Group’s nine locations worldwide.”

b&m Managing Director Jörg Pohl adds: “Sustainable business is a social obligation that our parent company, the Würth Group, is meeting with ambitious targets. At b&m, we not only support this path, but we also make our contribution with sustainable solution approaches – for example, through the use of renewable energies and the resource-saving manufacturing process b&m-ECCO TEC®.”
