b&m-SHEETFORM®

Direct screwing system specifically for thin sheet metal applications

The b&m-SHEETFORM® is provided with a forming zone specifically designed for applications in thin sheet metal (t ≤ 2 mm). It is suitable for screw connections in sheets with punched or extruded holes. The b&m-SHEETFORM® produces a metric thread so that metric equivalents can also be used for repairs.

Functional principle

If the hole diameter is optimally configured, the b&m-SHEETFORM® forms a hole-reinforcing collar from the sheet metal itself. The formed collar increases the number of threads in the through-hole, thereby creating a strong connection.

Benefits

  • Cost benefits due to the elimination of punched, press-fit, or weld nuts
  • Easy hole locating due to the special forming zone geometry
  • Increased number of threads through forming of a collar
  • Circular thread cross section and fully formed thread flanks offer maximum flank coverage and therefore a high overtorque
  • Effortless assembly with minimal axial force required during the screw-in process
